Outdoor Work Meeting

1. Introduction

This statement sets out Open Voice Lab Ltd's commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business activities and supply chains. Although Open Voice Lab Ltd is not currently required to publish a statement under Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we are committed to operating responsibly, ethically, and with respect for human rights.

We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, and all forms of exploitation.

2. Our business

Open Voice Lab Ltd is a UK-based consultancy working with public sector and third-sector organisations to improve digital engagement, consultation, participation, and service design activities.

We help organisations use digital tools, research, data, and engagement methodologies to better understand the needs and views of their communities, stakeholders, service users, beneficiaries, and citizens. Through our work, we support organisations to make informed decisions, improve services, strengthen participation, and create meaningful and measurable change.

Our activities are primarily office-based and include consultancy services, project delivery, research and analysis, digital engagement, facilitation, training, and the use of cloud-based technology platforms.

3. Our Values and Commitment

As an organisation that supports participation, inclusion, community engagement, and positive social outcomes, we recognise the importance of respecting human rights and promoting ethical business practices.

We are committed to ensuring that our business relationships, procurement decisions, and operational activities are conducted in a manner that reflects these values and contributes to fair and responsible working practices.

4. Our Supply Chain

As a small consultancy, our supply chain is relatively straightforward and consists primarily of:

  • Digital engagement, consultation and survey platform providers

  • Cloud software and technology service providers

  • Professional advisers and associates

  • Research and data analysis tools

  • Training and development providers

  • Office, telecommunications and business support suppliers

Whilst we consider the risk of modern slavery occurring within our direct operations to be low, we recognise that risks may exist within wider supply chains and remain committed to taking reasonable steps to identify and address those risks where appropriate.

5. Risk Assessment

Given the nature of our business, the majority of our suppliers are UK-based or established international technology and professional service providers operating within regulated environments.

We consider the overall risk of modern slavery within our direct operations and immediate supply chain to be low. However, we remain vigilant and understand that risks can exist in areas such as outsourced services, technology supply chains, manufacturing, and international subcontracting arrangements.

6. Due Diligence

Open Voice Lab Ltd seeks to minimise the risk of modern slavery by:

  • Working with reputable suppliers and service providers.

  • Considering ethical and responsible business practices when selecting suppliers.

  • Reviewing supplier relationships periodically and addressing concerns where they arise.

  • Avoiding knowingly entering into business relationships with organisations associated with forced labour, human trafficking, or other forms of exploitation.

  • Raising concerns with suppliers where credible information suggests unethical employment practices.

7. Policies and Reporting

We encourage employees, contractors, associates, and business partners to raise concerns relating to modern slavery, human rights abuses, or unethical business conduct.

Any concerns raised will be treated seriously and investigated appropriately. Where evidence of modern slavery or exploitative practices is identified, Open Voice Lab Ltd will take reasonable steps to review the relationship and determine appropriate action.

8. Training and Awareness

As a small organisation, we adopt a proportionate approach to training and awareness. Directors and personnel involved in procurement, supplier engagement, and project delivery will maintain an awareness of modern slavery risks and good ethical business practices.

9. Measuring Effectiveness

To assess the effectiveness of our approach, Open Voice Lab Ltd will:

  • Review this statement annually.

  • Monitor supplier relationships for any concerns relating to unethical labour practices.

  • Review any reported incidents or concerns and take appropriate action where necessary.

  • Update our practices as our business and supply chains develop.

10.Approval and Review

This statement has been approved by the Directors of Open Voice Lab Ltd in September 2026 and will be reviewed annually.
